I have ridges on my nails, and have been looking for a long time for a file that was fine enough to use before every manicure. This two sided file is great...I use the slightly coarser side on the tips, and the very fine side all over my nails.

The banana shape of the boards makes it a little more comfortable to file the nails. It's also gentle on the nails and not rough like most files I used.

The emery board wears out as soon as it makes contact with the nail, leaving a smooth (useless) patch. I guess they will last a couple of uses, then I’ll have to throw them out.
