This is my favorite Assam tea and I have tried many different brands from many different companies. It has a rich aroma and a sweet and slightly fruity flavor. It’s very tolerant of over steeping, it doesn’t get bitter if you leave it brewing too long. Great with milk (2% works best). I don’t use any sweetener because I don’t think it needs it but it would probably work with a little honey or sugar if that’s what you prefer
One of my absolute favorite teas! The packaging is attractive and keeps the tea fresh. Tao of Tea is always very high quality and being organic is so important these days for tea leaves especially. The loose leaf makes it easy to decide how strong a cuppa you make. I buy a variety of their teas, you can't go wrong!
This is one of the best Assam teas I have come across. Very good flavor, strong but not bitter. Great with a touch of milk and zulka (Mexican raw sugar). A good Irish breakfast tea. I also mix this 50/50 with Darjeeling or earl Grey (both from Tao of Tea), for a mellower blend with the same good flavor.
I was trying to find a full-bodied organic tea that was not English Breakfast on IHerb and decided to try this brand. It is exactly what I was looking for. Excellent packaging: it is a metal tin that has an outer and inner lid to keep the tea fresh. It is completely reusable as well when buying loose leaf tea that is not resealable, for instance in bulk. The quality is quite good and the taste is quite smooth, while not as bitter as some stronger teas. For someone wanting to experiment with a black tea that is not English Breakfast or Earl Grey, this would be a good choice.
To be completely honest, I'm not a tea drinker. I purchased this tea to make Chai as many swear by Assam tea to make it. It made a good tasting chai, although the large tea leaves were somewhat cumbersome, and the quality was for classy tea, not for chai which any chaiwallah in India will tell you uses very cheap Assam tea. The taste was good though, but if you're looking for tea leaves for chai, this isn't the best deal.
